I have a friend who is really into russian mig fighters. We were at school together and he was always buying airfix models of MiGs and other jets and he is now buying them for his children. I know that he has always wanted to fly a jet but I was still surprised when he told me that his wife had paid for him to have a flight in one. He is reaching his 40th birthday soon and this is going to be her gift to her. I think it is fabulous that you can buy flying lesson gifts these days - gone are the days when we were just happy with a card! It is really nice to give great gifts and I suppose, despite the recession, we still all have more money than our parents and grand parents ever did and it is nice to be able to treat each other to something like this every so often.
